This movie focuses on both black and white women and the struggles they faced living in a society dominated by white males. The fear, hopelessness, and courage shown in this movie illustrates the times of the Civil Rights movement when so many black people were afraid yet felt the need to fight for a better future. There are plenty complex issues of feminism, racial injustice, and relationship struggles introduced in this movie making it very meaningful. However, the comedy, amazing acting, and outrageous characters makes this a movie accessible and enjoyable even to those of us who are not history buffs. I would recommend watching this movie.
